The AK-47 is the most powerful assualt rifle, but the least accurate, as it really suffers from multiple shot and recoil penalties. The full automatic firing mode is extremly deadly at close range, but medium and long ranges are best left to the semi-auto and zoomed in mode. The AK-47 makes for a good medium range weapon and ok for long ranges. Remember, when in auto mode, you will empty a clip in 3 seconds, so make your shots count.

The AK-47 is probably the most famous assault rifle that was designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov apparently concieved whilst he was in hospital with war wounds. The original design was produced in 1947 and used by Eastern bloc countries during the cold war. Lighter, more compact but with a shorter range than WW2 weapons the AK is inexpensive to produce and very easy to clean and maintain making it ideal for use in any conditions. This weapon uses 7.62 x 39 mm rounds with an effective range of 300 m, a 30 round magazine capacity and can be fired semi or full auto. It uses a gas-operated,rotating-bolt action and has a rate of fire of 600 rpm and can also be fitted with a grenade launcher, the GP-25. There have been more than 100 million AK-47’s produced and the weapon even features on a countries coat of arms and anothers flag reflecting how well thought of this weapon is and how well also that it works.

The GP-25 underbarrel grenade launcher, also referred to as small artillery, is used by Russian forces including the SPETSNAZ. It is primarily used when enemy forces are held up in buildings, trenches or on open reverse slopes along with grenades to stun, injure, and lower resistance before attempting entry or attack. The GP-25 uses 40 mm grenades that can be fired every 4-6 seconds by the well trained soldier and has a sighting range of 400 m. As with other grenade launchers the enemy should be at least 50 m away to avoid injury to oneself. 1)
