The C4 charges are extremely powerful. If you see a stationary vehicle, try to sneak up on them without being seen and places charges on the vehicle. It will take two charges to destroy a tank, and other armor, and one on a smaller vehicle. Switch to the detonator (alt-fire button) and be ready to hit the button as soon as you are out of the blast radius (its big so be careful). Also try staging an attack on the enemy base. Sneak in around from the side, and go for the commander assets, UAV radar, artillery. It will take 2 charges to blow up one of these, so either request a supply drop (careful!! if an enemy sees the crate falling, you’ll give your position away) or bring a friend (either another spec-ops, or support). You get 5 charges, so you can only blow up two items.

One word of caution: once you place your last charge, you automatically switch to the detonator, so don’t get click happy when placing the charges. If you only have 1 charge left, don’t click twice, because the second click will blow up the charge (and you!!).

You can also blow up bridges to halt vehicle traffic in a certain area. Bridges may take between 2 and 5 charges to destroy it. Just be careful which bridges you blow, if you blow up one that friendly vehicles are going to use, you’ll trap your vehicles in one spot.

If you see enemy armor, or other vehicles coming down the road, throw some C4 in the road and find a hiding spot, then detonate the C4 as the vehicle passes by. If the road is narrow enough, its better to hide the C4 along the side, or by a tree or something, so they can’t see it. If an enemy sees the C4 in the middle road, they may turn around.

If you want to defend a flag, throw some C4 around the flag (try corners, flag pole, in a bush, try to conceal it as best as possible). Then when some enemy soldiers park around the flag to capture it, blow up the C4 from a hiding spot.

Sometimes, C4 may be very useful as a main weapon. If you’re fast enough, sprint-jump and throw a C4 towards the enemy over a fence (so you won’t get hurt) and switch to the dentonator fast. Then just hit the button, but be careful. There are three things you need to watch out for when you do this:

1. Watch out for team mates who rush in to the area, especially medic whores
2. There is a glitch where the detonator will switch back to a normal C4, and instead of hitting the detonator you will toss out another pack
3. Finally, this trick is often considered as low as over-using a grenade launcher or bunny-hopping, so don’t do it all the time ;-)

For some fun, throw some C4 on the front of a jeep, jump behind the wheel and ram into the back of a tank or into the middle of a enemy squad, jump out, and if you can get away from the jeep and detonate, or if you think you’ll make enough kills, make it a suicide bombing. It’s quite fun to see a jeep blow up the enemy, or for some other fun, you don’t even need to be a Spec-Ops, just jump into a jeep and drive into a group of enemies, and jump out and watch the enemy run away as fast as possible, then as they are running mow them down with an assault rifles. Or ram into the front of a tank and see if you can get the tank to back up quickly and run over his team mates. :-)

The explosion of a package of C4 does a whole lot of damage, but how much exactly? Following graphs indicates the amount of damage caused by a single package of C4 over distance on a scale of 20.

C4 or composition 4 is a variety of plastic explosive used by the military for demolition or as an AP (anti-personal) device. It is an explosive compound mixed with a plastic binder that makes the explosive more manageable and stable meaning a detonator and blasting cap are required to set off a two phase blast. Military issue M112 blocks of C4 weighing in at 1.25 pounds can easily demolish a truck but with the gases expanding at about 8050 m/s, you must be clear of the blast radius as you cannot outrun the explosion. 2)
