Defibrillator (Shock Paddles)

Defibrillator

Usage

If a friendly unit is gunned down, or “critically wounded” an icon will appear on your mini-map and a pulsating one on the 3d map, indicating their position. If you are within proximity, rush over and use the shock paddles to zap them back to life. You will need to aim for the chest to revive them; you can be standing to do it. The only case where you can't revive someone, is if they get killed in a vehicle, ladder, or a direct artillery hit. You will receive two points for reviving someone.

Before you go to rush and revive someone, survey the situation, if you come under fire while going to the downed team mate’s body, either retreat or clear out the resistance before you revive the person. You may end up getting killed trying to revive him, then instead of one ticket loss; you now will lose two for your team. Or you may revive the guy, but then if you are under fire, he'll end up getting killed again, and will have to wait another 15 seconds till he can spawn. Don't revive just to get the point. If the guy you just revived does get killed again, don't revive him again. Clear out the resistance first! Then revive him again. Nothing is more annoying than having a medic that will revive you again and again after being killed immediately after being revived.

It is possible to avoid being revived by a medic. If you were under heavy fire and you prefer to re-spawn at another location, you must quickly open your overview map. The medic will not be able to magically bring you back to life. Try to avoid it, because it will leave the medic in a vulnerable position.
