The smoke grenade is very underestimated and not used very much. If you’re in a squad and you come upon a choke point that is covered by machine guns and sniper, chuck a smoke grenade at the choke point and it will cloak your squads advancement across the choke point, and can give your squad the advantage of those several meters of hidden area to get close to the enemy to be able attack them at close range.

Of course the enemy will have their guns pointed at the smoke cloud, but they won’t know where you will pop out of, so that gives you an advantage. This also brings up another tactic. Use the smoke as a distraction: chuck it off to the side (preferably another choke point) where the enemy can see it. Usually they will be watching the smoke for you to pop out. This is where you and your squad sneaks in from the enemy’s flanks, and surprise them from behind or from the side.

Also if your squad finds themselves under too much fire, or possibly a tank guarding the flag which has seen you, simply drop a smoke grenade at your feet and retreat as fast as possible and regroup and gather anti-tank soldiers to take out the tank.

The explosion of the grenade does a very small amount of damage. In a very rare ocassion, when it explodes in the vicinity of an enemy at extremely low health, it can inflict the final blow. Either that or a direct hit from the flying metal can, right in between the eyes. You’ll end up with: You [Smoke Grenade] very unfortunate enemy.

What? It produces smoke, there are no more stats about it, what did you expect? The gas-particle density? No, it’s just smoke, something you may find notoriously difficult to look through.
