IGN gives Modern Warfare 3 a 9.0 (out of 10) in their review. Go check it out. I wonder if any review will give it less than an 8 or equivalent.
People love to hate it, but the Call of Duty franchise is successful for a reason. No other first-person shooter has the same flair for visual spectacle in its singleplayer campaign, and few can match its utterly addictive multiplayer. While Call of Duty games have become formulaic at this point, as evidenced by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's muddled narrative and at times frustrating design, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have refined and polished the Modern Warfare experience to produce the best of the series with the third installment.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 comes out tomorrow, and we can't wait to get our daily rations of headshots in. We thought the best way to get everyone ready for the hundreds of hours of multiplayer action would be to do a quick fly through of the new maps with the resident IGN Pros. Identifying the camp spots, the flanking routes, and the choke points is a key ingredient to survival.

Gunnar Optiks, whose "gaming glasses" we looked at last year, are releasing an official range of limited edition Modern Warfare 3 eyewear in support of the impending release of Activision's latest shooter. The glasses will be available both online and in Best Buy for $99.
The PC version of the game, or at least part of it, has been circulating among pirates in the U.S., who illegally copy and share it without paying Activision Blizzard or its retailers. That’s a big problem, as Activision Blizzard is expected to sell more than 20 million copies of the game in 2011 alone, according to Arcadia Research. That amounts to more than $1.2 billion in sales at retail.
Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter believes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will outsell Battlefield 3 by a margin of 2 to 1 this fall. According to Pachter, Battlefield 3 will sell eight million copies, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will sell 16 million.
Michael Pachter, videogame analyst at Wedbush Morgan Securities, also believes Activision will win the war for consumer dollars this year. But he believes gaming press reviews, via Metacritic scores, will have a say in the final numbers.

MW3 Last Minute PC Facts... Again...[ Comment ] 22:41 PST | joshpeckler | Print News | Category: Modern Warfare 3 - MW3Two years have past and you'd think Infinity Ward and the Modern Warfare team would have learned their lesson. Nearly 18 days until launch and finally, the PC facts have come to light. I put off writing this because I'm actually pissed off that it took them this long to tell us the truth again, and the fact that once telling us the truth, won't respond to any question the community has about the PC SKU and decisions made... again...
Call me jaded, but this week marked my second year with Planet Call of Duty, in fact, if you want to know which day it was I took over... BASH 123. Yes, that's right... the day I started at PCOD marked the day Bowling came on BASH and told the world... "Hey, no dedicated servers... but you've got IWNet." Not two years later... he basically did it again...
I'm not going to copy and paste everything listed about the PC SKU of MW3, but I will cover the basics and the important stuff...
First: Dedicated Server for UNRANKED ONLY... now the specifics on what these "dedicated servers" are is still unclear... yes I know, you'd think they'd say "we've got files day one for you to load onto your server box or for a GSP to grab so you can rent unranked servers" ... but that's expecting too much...
Second: IWnet is back for RANKED play... Which means... wait didn't they say the reason Call of Duty Elite is no the same on PC is because they can't "lock it down" (might be paraphrasing there)....
So yes, IWNet is back, P2P is the only way to play ranked...
Now if you'll remember I caused a stink about bringing back renting only for ranked servers because then Call of Duty Elite would be equal on all platforms... but hey... apparently reason means nothing.
Third: There's no "MAXFPS", there's no LEAN, there is LAN support, and the max players is 18...
If you want to read all of the... all of the PC "info"... go here.

Sound Card: DirectX® 9.0C or later
AUTHORS NOTE: I'm not pissed about the lack of dedis for ranked... upset, but not pissed... what I'm pissed off about is the fact that for the second #$%!ing time they wait until last freaking minute to give any details what so ever about the PC SKU of their game... I'm mean seriously, I get it, bad press at the end... but come the #$%! on, that's not COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT , that's not even proper PR or MARKETING...

Activision released a singleplayer trailer for MW3 today, titled 'Redemption'. Call of Duty's signature 'cinematic thrill-ride' is displayed in full force in this trailer. Will the game's single player campaign tie up loose ends and deliver a satisfying finale to the Modern Warfare Trilogy? We'll have a better idea on November 8th when the game launches...

What is it about the Call of Duty franchise that separates it from the other games that are out there?
I just think it's so visceral, and it's so intense. There's more of a method to the madness of it. It's also not bogged down in a lot of bullsh*t. Modern Warfare 2 was like you're actually in this game. You're with your friends, and you're on this tundra, or you're on this snowy arctic base. There's something so intense about it. It really felt like you were with your buddies playing this game. They did such a great job.
